Shariff Latiff (middle in picture, alongside producers Farouq and Bandar) was the winning artist in The Source's May 1991 issue of Unsigned Hype. The twenty-year-old New York rapper became a Muslim after spending time in a youth detention center. Prior to his Unsigned Hype appearance, he had "opened for a few concerts including BDP and K-Solo". His three track demo included topics such as "suffering as a Black male" and "street level political statement[s]".
I can't find anything on the Internet about him or any of his music so I doubt he signed to a major label.
